Every ANZAC Day a wreath laying ceremony is held at our memorial on the waterfront at Ettalong Beach.

The service commences at 8.00 a.m. which is timed so as not to conflict with other services being held on the Peninsula.

There is a short address followed by the laying of wreaths – approx. 30 minutes.

After the service many of the veterans go back down to Woy Woy to take part in the march and the main 10.00 a.m. service held at the cenotaph.

After this there is a Smoko (lunch and show) held at the Ettalong Diggers’ Club. Tickets to be purchased at the Club.

The Club caters for special diets which should also be arranged through the Club.

Vietnam Veterans’ Day:

On the Saturday prior to the 18th August each year our Association holds a March, Commemoration Service and Memorial Dinner to mark Vietnam Veterans’ Day and the anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan.

The march forms up in Beach Street outside our office at 3.30 p.m., steps off at 3.45 p.m. and proceeds, around the block on which the Diggers’ Club stands, to the Memorial on the waterfront.

The Service commences at 4.00 p.m. This is a full service and lasts for around 45-60 minutes with guest speaker and wreath laying.

At 6.30 p.m. the doors open for the Memorial Dinner which includes a 3 course meal with entertainment and dancing.

Tickets (and table arrangements) are purchased at the Sub-Branch office.

The Club caters for special diets which should also be arranged through the Sub-Branch office.

A service of around 30 minutes is held at the waterfront memorial at 11.00 a.m. on Armistice Day, 11th November, each year. Again there is usually a guest speaker and wreathing laying.

After the service members retire to the office for lunch.
